Because most of the work is done before you search. MyEscapePlan keeps a prepared picture of the world covering tens of thousands of destinations, with details such as typical weather by month, airport reachability and likely cost already worked out. A search then scores hundreds of destination-and-date combinations against your constraints at once, usually within a couple of seconds, rather than looking each one up in turn.

Yes, against the same version of our travel data: the same request produces the same shortlist in the same order.
